Why is my grinder not grinding the coffee beans?

I have a Saeco Vienna Superautomatica that I purchased in 2004. It was working great until a couple of days ago, when the grinder stopped grinding the beans. I have taken the hopper out and vacuumed up the beans and grounds around the top of the grinder. When started, the grinder turns, but beans do not fall through and get ground.
