Why does my screen appear pink-ish on startup?

I was working on my iMac, when I accidentally electrocuted myself. After that, the screen had a pink-ish tint to it. Did I fry it?

If it is only tinted pink but is still otherwise usable, it is probably just a sign that the display is suffering from burn-in or backlight bleed and is starting to fail. If it looks more like pink pixelated visual glitches it could be an issue with the RAM or the GPU. You could try performing a PRAM reset or reseating the RAM. If none of those tricks fix the issue, you likely have a failing display or GPU, in which case you would need to replace the failing part to resolve the issue.

I do believe it is a failed display or GPU because before I electrocuted myself it worked perfectly fine, but after it doesn’t. Thank you so much for your advice, I will use this service more often.

Sounds good! Hope the shock wasn't too bad!

A pink-ish screen appearance on startup can be caused by several factors, including:

Monitor or display settings: It's possible that the color settings on your monitor or display are not properly calibrated. Many displays have color temperature settings that can affect the overall color balance of the screen. If the color temperature is set too warm, it can result in a pink-ish tint.

Graphics card settings: Your graphics card settings can also impact the color balance of your screen. Some graphics card software allows you to adjust color settings, including brightness, contrast, and color balance. If these settings are not properly configured, it could result in a pink-ish screen appearance.

Monitor or display hardware issues: Hardware issues with your monitor or display can also cause a pink-ish screen appearance. This could be due to a faulty monitor cable, a loose connection, or a problem with the monitor's internal components

Will
