Webcam not turning on after screen replacement?
So I've recently replaced the screen on my M1 MacBook Pro and the webcam doesn't seem like it wants to open up? Ran the Apple diagnostics tool and it doesn't seem to report anything wrong with the camera. Checked System Information and it does seem to show the model ID and Unique ID. The green light indicator slowly flashes as if it's trying to turn on.
Does it require reinstalling macOS? Or does anyone happen to know which cable is responsible for the webcam so that I can try reseating it. Thanks!

I've just had the same problem. The problem persists with two different, new screen assemblies. Both are brand new, correct screens (for A2338) and camera works with neither. When I fit the original broken screen assembly - the camera works. Either I'm VERY unlucky or this is some Apple magic that's disabling cameras on non Apple Original screen assemblies ??

I never got it to work. I got some amount refunded from the seller. I never found out if the camera is broken or if it really is a software issue, but I would assume that the OS would complain with some warning if it's not a "genuine" part, like they do on the iphone. Please post here if you find a solution.

apparentlty it is due to logic board not recognizing the new webcam. The logic board is paired to the webcam in the original screen. In order to have it work, you would need to re-pair it with the new webcam (I dont know how) or swap the webcam from the OG screen and install it into the new screen or take the LCD out of the new screen and install it into the old screen. I have the same issue.
