Piece fell off during screen replacement

This piece fell of during screen replacement. Is there anh way to reattach or is it not necessary for the phone to work properly.

Thank you for the help!

Hi Alexandre,

The part you're looking at is a grounding clip that provides a solid ground signal to the screen from the motherboard. I can't say with any authority what effect it would have by leaving it out, but generally manufacturers don't add parts that aren't necessary for one reason or another.

So while it may work fine without that part, there is always the possibility that something may not work right; for example, a month from now you could find that the NFC doesn't work without that part. Just sayin'.

Anyway, it appears that is a clip that just snaps onto the motherboard. Here's that clip shown when the motherboard has been removed from the chassis.

It's not clear from reading the guides exactly what it'll take to put that part back in. Hopefully you can manage to fit it in as is and get it clipped to the motherboard without taking anything else apart, but you might have to take the midframe off to give you room to work. See steps 23 and 24 of the motherboard replacement guide.

I'm pretty sure that's all you'd have to take apart; I doubt you'd have to actually remove the motherboard just to clip that clip back on.
