MacBook Pro wont boot up stays in black screen with logo.

it powers on (no chime) black screen with logo shows (not loading bar) and nothing more, i tried comand + r nothing hapends, alt (option) brings select booting device (internal) or (usb) shows but what ever is selected and click goes to black screen and stays there!!! some one with a solution? tnx

It sounds like the drive is not accessible.

Do you have access to a second Mac system? You could see if you can use target disk mode or you may need to use the configurator tool.

y do have a 2014 macbook pro w/bigsur, how can i do that process to run that mode?

@pcinknet - You will need to first upgrade your 2014 system to the highest version as your 2017 system requires files in the newer MacOS release. Here we are using your older 2014’s drive for your 2017 system. You also need to get a Thunderbolt2 to Thunderbolt3 adapter cable. Here’s a run down Understanding the Applications for Target Disk Mode once you get the system booted up you should be able to reinstall the OS.

If that fails you’ll still need the cable to get Apple Configurator for Mac working to repair the firmware if that’s needed.
