black screen after a green screen, display not responding or opening

hello ifixit!

my mom was on call with one of our relatives on her iphone 7 plus when suddenly her phone screen flashed green [the writing on the screen turned green] and then turned black. she could still hear the call going on, but the phone screen stopped responding. we dropped the call, and after a while her phone screen turned off.

we tried doing a cold restart, which didnt work :(

after charging it overnight, it's connected to the ITunes finder thing on my laptop, and it's begun updating. the screen still hasnt opened or responded though, even during putting it in recovery mode.

any help, please? my mom has lots of very sentimental pictures and important stuff on her phone, and we really dont wanna resort to resetting it :(

(post edited! the itunes didnt work before we let it charge overnight. the haptics came back once it charged)
