for context. i dropped this 3ds a few years back and not played with it for years. i tried charging it for hours and it won't turn on. when trying to press the power button it shows a feint red light. any way this can be fixed?

In general, when a DS take charge but don't turn on that comes from a fuse and even more when she was dropping, so first check this two fuses for continuity with a multimeter in beep mode(Pink square).
If the two fuse have contonuity, the problem come probably from this chip
In this case you can try to reflow it with some flux and a hot air station.
