A dumb weird storage question
If I was dumb enough to want to replace the SSD with an old fashioned mechanical hard drive, would that be possible with the form factor of this laptop? Thanks for any consideration.

unfortunately, you cant replace the sdd with a hard drive becuase of apple being picky about what ssd's can be used.
https://beetstech.com/product/solid-stat... you could use something like this, however.

Thanks! I may just get a newer laptop :)
The SSD in these is a MacBook Pro 13" Function Keys 2017 Storage, and I don't think there would be any way to fit a 2.5" drive into the chassis without some serious modification and a weird chain of adapters.
If you want a larger boot drive, your better bet might be to use an external hard drive as your boot device, or to expand your existing drive. But you're definitely going to notice an impact to performance, especially if you're using an HDD rather than an SSD.

Thanks! I suspected as much but good to have confirmation.
