I have a new 3ds xl that won’t charge or power on. I bought a new battery for it and it still wouldn’t charge or turn on. I then put the original battery and new battery I bought in a different one and they both worked. So what could be wrong with my system? I don’t think it’s water damage as it was in a non humid dry environment but went unused for a while.

It's probably a charging port problem, look it or add a picture of it on your post to confirm that the issue.
