My new3ds gets stuck on a red screen every time I try to open homebrew
ive tried messing with the camera, countless restrarts, opening a game and a lot more. how do i get past this screen?

By "homebrew", do you mean the homebrew launcher? If so, redownload and replace boot.3dsx. If you mean any homebrew app (FBI, UU, Checkpoint, etc.) there's probably something wrong with luma. Redownload and replace both boot.firm and boot.3dsx, and hopefully that fixes it.
Don't mess with any filenames, just copy them directly from the release zip to your SD card.
