Hello,
I recently put my phone in water for 10s and the display started flashing with colors, so I turned it off, dried it for 3 days and now it doesn't turn on or even charge.
When I try to do the hard-reset (power + volume down), the phone vibrates but screen stays black and still doesn't charge. Do you think the display or/and battery is dead?

Okay, I don't think I even want to know what possessed you to put your phone in water. Just know that's always a bad idea, okay?
First things first, do not turn on the phone or attempt to charge it. You'll need to disassemble it and clean it with 90% or higher concentration of isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol. Use this guide to take it apart.

Batteries and screens are very susceptible to liquid damage so if I were you I'd plan on replacing both. However, it wouldn't hurt to start with a new battery and see what happens once it's been cleaned. If you can get any sign of life with the new battery but still don't have a display, then replacing the screen would be the next step.

Thank you very much. I will try it ASAP. Is there a chance the motherboard will be damaged too, or is it more likely that battery and/or display are damaged?
@down23 Corrosion is your enemy here, which is what the cleaning is intended to mitigate So yes, there is a chance of damage to the motherboard, especially if the contaminants in the water aren't cleaned off and are allowed to build up corrosion. The sooner it's addressed, the better chance for a full recovery.
Upon rereading your question, I'd say it's a fairly safe bet you're going to have to replace the screen. I would strongly suggest putting in a new battery at the same time, though.
@dadibrokeit The inside looks OK, no signs of corrosion.
May I ask if there's a particular reason why it's better putting in both the battery and display at the same time?
@down23 In your case it appears pretty definite that the screen is shot, so that should definitely be done. They always recommend replacing a battery that's gotten exposed to liquid for the simple fact that there's a lot of electricity stored up in the battery and most liquids are conductors so batteries are very quick to fry themselves when they get wet. As a result, experience has taught us that it's just best to replace the battery any time there's liquid damage with a phone.
Of course, it's your phone and your decision. You can certainly start out with just the screen and see if the battery holds up; it may very well be fine but you may not know for a while. Naturally you can always replace the battery down the road if problems do show up with it.
