i am trying to get this power bank open, but i am having a hard time. I got one side open and am able to slide a “guitar pick” down the sides, but it wont open. It snaps back together tightly once the said pick is removed.

Some clam shell designs use hidden screws, often under a label. Use a fingernail or blunt object like a fork tine and carefully rub over the label until a depression is felt where a screw is located. You'll have to peel off the label to reveal mounting screws. Other clam shells are snap together parts where you have to locate where tabs lock for clues to how many and location.
