MacBook A1502 does not turn on

Hello,

I got this macbook pro a1502 a while ago with a swollen battery.
Put in a new battery, disk and bought a charger but I cant seem to get this macbook started, no fans, no sound, no display, nothing.
When connecting the charger it goes from green to orange and i'm feeling some components getting warm and with a multimeter i've checked if voltage was getting to the battery (which it does) but I was just randomly probing some connectors to see if i got a result.
Also the charger is drawing around 56w according to my wall outlet (when battery is connected), if the battery is not connected it is going to 0 but the light stays orange.

Do you have any idea where to start? I've done a couple of evenings searching the internet to find some stuff and testing it (unplugging all the cables for exable) but i cant seem to get this working.

I know it was working when I got this (about 2 years ago), since then it was collecting dust and now i'm trying to get this working again.

If anybody knows where to start or is willing to help, thanks in advance.

Let’s give this a try, disconnect the battery and anything else connected. Now press and hold the power button for a good 15secs this will allow the logic board to fully discharge. Now only connect the MagSafe charger did the system spontaneously boot up? If it did let it finish booting and do a clean shutdown, now disconnect the MagSafe and carefully plug the battery back in. Once done see if the system startup this time.

Let us know what you discover, good luck!

The Grey thing is an inductor and will get warm. But my bigger worry is the lack of a drive! The image shows the Blade SSD is missing. Thats that large empty space just above. Are you missing that?

Thanks for the response!

I tried but unfortunately nothing.

Although I did find that the battery was charging, left it in the charger overnight and the led in the MagSafe was green the next day instead of orange.

I also felt that there was something getting (grey, almost square thing) warm, like this cap right next to the charging cable, this is maybe a battery controller or something?

@ketamientjes - Which grey thing? How about posting a pic or use one of the guide images making note which part.

I took it out for inspection, but that didn't make a difference but it should boot without the SSD right? (or atleast show to apple logo or something).

@ketamientjes - No ticket, no shirt! Sorry on SSD, no boot!

Hi Dan, there was some time between my responses but I did seat the SSD back in but unfortunately it doesn't make a difference!

The light on the MagSafe charger stays orange (battery disconnected).

Thank you for the support and please let me know if you have a different tip for the issue!
