LVDS Connector damage to the motherboard

So I got this MacBook for free. Person who gave me this said they wanted to remove back cover but wasn't able to take it out so tried to find a screw through back cover pad and eventually damaged the LVDS connector and the motherboard too. My question is it even worth trying to replace the LVDS connector and missing pads in the first place because person has tried to unscrew non existent screw straight to the deeper layer of motherboard.

Hard to tell as the exposed copper area is the outer shield plate using some thinner see if you can wipe away the damaged coatings to see if it’s just the top layer. I don’t see glass fibers if the PCB had been cut.

I would also use a good iron to clean off the joints to see if the traces are still workable you maybe able to splice a wire to jump the void after mounting the connector.

I think it’s worth the effort as you got the system for free!

FYI - While the connector is the same as what the unibodies used which used LVDS signaling hence the often confused term for the connector. In the Retina series they use a different signal method either eDP or iDP depending on the age. For simplicity I just call it a display connector😊
