Cannot get my joy-con into two person player mode
My joycon will not go into two player mode and automatically goes into one player mode I've already tried resetting the joycon what do I do

Hey from the Home menu, you should go to the controllers section and change grip of the joycon's.
From there you can change the joycon's to single mode and make them 2 different controllers.
