I have an M1 2020 MacBook Pro
When I replaced the screen the screen would not turn on but it made the Mac startup sound when plugged in.
So I went in and disconnected the battery waited a couple minutes and then reconnected it.
Then I plugged it in but now there is no sound.
I'm consurned that disconnecting the battery a second time has done something.

Got the display from eBay.
@struanmcle99587 - It’s possible the part is bad.
What happens if you plug-in an external display, keyboard and mouse? We call this Clamshell mode with the lid closed after starting the system up.
Power goes into the thunder bolt ports but no power comes out. I tried after you sent this message but sadly there was no output on the monitor. But it has started making the Mac boot up sound and it also makes the charging sound but never shows any life other than that.
@struanmcle99587 - Let’s backup a bit what happened that made you think you needed a new display assembly.
The old screen assembly had coke damage in the screen. It was still usable but it was a bit annoying to use. So I desided to replace it. Not sure how the coke damage got there because I bought it off eBay. But there was no damage to the internals.

Hi,
I would check the connectors are plugged in correctly, as they can be very temperamental. Go back through your steps, review there is no obvious damage, and ensure all the connectors are in perfectly.

Just held the power button and for some reason it made the power up noise but there was no output on external display or internal one. When I plugged it in there was no charging noise as well as no lights on keyboard.
Thanks for the advice though I'll check all cables tomorrow.
