Can I reset the spring inside the seatbelt retractor?

I'm not getting an airbag code, no airbag warnings, my seatbelt won't retract back in like the spring has malfunctioned or offtrack and no the car hasn't been in an accident. I got out in a hurry to go to the trunk and when I went back it wouldn't retract back like no tension just unwinds completely. Is there actually a reset button for this model? I have a 2004 Jetta GLS 1.8t
