I recently opened up my psp 2000 and after replacing the joystick as it was broken it stopped loading UMD Discs. It has the loading icon but after about a minute it just says "disc could not be read" on a game that worked on it previously and my other psp. Did i disconnect something? Do i need to lube the gears as it's making a whirring noise now? Any help is appreciated.

Well first thing to do is to open it up again and be sure that all is connected properly!
Also check if something is damaged (cables etc).
