Is joining these 2 cables possible?

Hi, I have a PSVita 1000, everything's fine with it, but I'm going on a trip with it next week and since I have a spare original PSVita cable and a spare USB-C to Lightning, I was wondering if i would be able to join the USB-C part of it to the propietary male connector of the PSVita 1000 so I can travel with only one brick on my bag, the fast charging one I have for my iPhone.

I was able to find some pics of the pinouts of the UDC connector of the Vita, but I havent been able to find what each cable does on my USB-C cable.

It has Two red wires, a white, a green and a blue wire. I'm under the impression that the tinned wires are the GND, so I started testing and the only cable that gives me some kind of voltage is the blue wire, giving me 3.2v

What throws me of are the two red wires, why is there two? What purpose do they serve?

Also, I know the risks of connecting a fast charger to a PSVita, but I'd guess the charger has some way of knowing when to use normal charging in case you connect it to an iPhone that doesn't have fast charging, so I think I'm safe in that regard, if you guys think that's not the case, any feedback is appreciated. I'm here to learn.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, have you considered doing the mod on your PS Vita to USBC?

Do a search for the mod.

@decadessen81812 Hi! I've indeed seen that mod, but I'm new to soldering and I'm kind of scared of ruining the only PSVita motherboard I can afford right now.

If I do have the guts to try it, do you have an official link to the site where I can buy it so I don't get a Chinese knockoff?

@david_olivos I was also going to suggest this. It might be a bit of an ask for a soldering beginner. But it isn't tremendously difficult if you have the right tools and a little experience under your belt.

I saw a Youtube video where someone installed the VitaC if you want to at least see what you'd be in for.

I know there a couple versions of this though. I've seen ones that are just the board and you have to assemble it. Which requires some additional know how.

Fear not, you don’t have to start on your device. I’m sure you can find any old broken bit of electronics and learn how to de-solder components, observe effects of using too much/not enough heat, track damage from heat, practice tinning wire ends, access difficulties and manipulation skills. Sorry I don’t have direct link.
