Repair and disassembly information for Razer keyboards.

Need help finding keyboard replacement wire (Blackwidow v3)

so recently my USB wire had broke on my keyboard and ever since ive been trying to find the right replacement wire but have yet to find the correct one and am in serious need of getting it fixed.

Update (08/07/24)

Yeah so its just the regular blackwidow v3 that i know of and here you can see where the pin is meant to go and their was a black wire off the side of the pin connector with a loop i believe is a shield for the ground wire? i may be wrong but i no longer have the wire itself otherwise id have sent a picture of that for more detail

Hi Dan,

We might need a little more information in order to help.

First of all, it looks like there's more than one model of keyboard that falls under the heading of Razer Blackwidow V3; I see ones called Pro, 10 keyless and mini, but there may be more, so it's important to know exactly which one you have.

Next, there seems to be different ways the cable is attached on these kinds of keyboards; I see posts talking about it being a simple USB-A to USB-C cable, some others mention having to solder the cable in, and yet others mention a plug in on the circuit board, perhaps something like this.

It would help us a lot if you could post pictures of your keyboard's cable and point out where the damage is located. If it is mounted inside the case, then opening up the case and adding pictures of where it goes to your question would be very useful. There's a guide for the Razer BlackWidow V3 Pro showing how to open it up that might help you figure out how to get yours open.

the key is the connector. it you don't have the old cable, it is unlikely you will find a replacement unless you can get one from the mfg.

It will be difficult even to get another USB A cable, cut it and attach the wires to wires on the connector (if yo had the old cable). Even more difficult to solder the wires to the back of that connector. But that is about the only solutions you have.
