I replace the front screen of my iphone 4s. After removing all the parts and diconnecting the cables a gold piece fell out. It is round on one end and then goes into a U shape with what looks like two prongs or contacts that have a nipples on the end of them. Does anyone know what this is or where it goes?

I think ReekoB identified the part you are talking about correctly. It should be relatively easy to out back into place.

While I'm here, anyone know about the black piece on the right?
That goes on the top of the main board where the 2 display flex cables bend round to fit to the main board connectors. It is not essential and your phone will function perfectly fine without it.
