The Canon PowerShot SX520 HS is a 16.0 megapixel camera released in August 2014. It is a portable, point-and-shoot camera that takes digital photos and 1080p high resolution videos. The camera has a zoom framing assist function that allows the camera to automatically zoom in and out to keep images clear.

The camera has a sleek black body and a 24 mm wide-angle lens. Looking at the camera with the LCD screen down and the lens facing up, there is a marking on the right side of the lens that says "Full HD, 42x Optical Zoom."

Compared to its predecessor and successor, PowerShot SX510 HS and PowerShot SX530 HS, the PowerShot SX520 HS does not have Wi-Fi capabilities.
