Background
The Nerf Vortex Praxis (Model 32216) is a rifle blaster that was released on September 10, 2011 by Hasbro Incorporated. It is a part of the Vortex series that was launched in the same year and features disk projectiles advertised to have a longer range than traditional Nerf darts.
All blasters in the Nerf Vortex product lineup fire Vortex Disks. While the Praxis blaster included 10 disks, additional ammunition can be purchased separately (Model 33687) both online and in select stores. Add-on products for this device include the Nerf Vortex Tech Kit (Model 34381), which includes 10 Vortex disks as well as an extra magazine that works in both the Vortex Praxis and Nitron blasters, and the Vortex Ammo Belt (Model A0325), which allows the user to carry two additional magazines for their Nerf Vortex Praxis blaster.
Due to declining sales, the product line was discontinued in 2015, although many retailers still sell Nerf Vortex devices and accessories.
Nerf and all related characters are trademarks of Hasbro, Inc.
Identification
The Praxis features an underhand pump-action loading system, a top tactical rail, and is the only blaster in the Vortex series with a removable shoulder stock. It was sold in a green, orange, and gray color scheme referred to by the manufacturer as Cyber Camouflage.
Product information is stamped on one side of the barrel and on the body of the blaster near the trigger. The Nerf logo and Vortex branding are printed on both sides of the toy.
