Toshiba Satellite L855-S5210 Repair

The Toshiba Satellite L855-S5210 was released in December 30th, 2015. The Satellite L855-S5210 is part of the Satellite S line of Toshiba personal computers introduced in 1992. The S series was discontinued in 2016, along with the rest of the Satellite line which by then was renamed Dynabook. In 2012, Toshiba announced the Satellite L800 series which includes the L855 and other four models: the L875, L830, L850 and L870. All includes Intel or AMD based CPUs, 2x USB 3.0 and 1x USB 2.0, HDMI and options for up to 1TB HDD with a Blu-ray or DVD drive depending on the configuration.

The laptop is upgradeable, which includes its memory, storage, and Windows operating system. It starts with Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, SP1. The maximum memory the laptop can have is 16GB. The storage the laptop has 640GB, but it can be upgraded to 2TB of storage. This will also be the case for other Satellite L855 or L800 models who have AMD based CPUs. Display resolution ranges from 1366x768 up to 1600x900 pixels, depending on the model configuration. There are no options for native 1080p display, but the Satellite L855 does have Blu-ray with a 3D-compatible external HDTV port.

These kind of Toshiba laptops can be identified by having a label on the bottom cover where you can see the model number and Windows version. It will be located on the middle left, battery location pointing down. It may be printed on a sticker or laser etched into the bottom cover. This will also be the case with other L800 laptops with its lineup. Its physical description can be identified by its color which is Mercury Silver. Its dimensions are 14.96” x 9.53” x 1.14”/1.31” measured by width, depth and height. The weight is starting at 5.5 lbs, depending on the starting configuration.
