If the touchpad on your HP Chromebook 14-q063cl is not responding to your fingers, it may need to be replaced. Use this guide to remove and replace your touchpad.
The touchpad is one of the main components of your laptop that you use to give it commands and complete tasks. If the touchpad is not working, even basic tasks cannot be properly completed.

Before beginning this repair, turn off your device and unplug from the charger.

Flip the laptop upside down so that the bottom is facing upwards.

Use Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove nine 6.7 mm screws from the bottom panel.

Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four remaining 6.7 mm screws from the bottom panel.

Turn the laptop upright.

Use an opening tool or picks to undo the clips around the perimeter of the keyboard assembly and separate it from the rest of the laptop.

Remove the keyboard assembly.

Disconnect the cable attaching the keyboard cable to the motherboard.

To safely remove the ribbon cable securing the touchpad ribbon cable is a ZIF connector, use the angled tweezers to lift up the plastic flap of the ZIF connector.

Use the angled tweezers to pull the touchpad ribbon cable from the connector on the motherboard.

Using the iFixit 64 screw driver with a Phillips #1 attachment, remove two 2 mm screws from the touchpad.

Turn the keyboard so that it faces upwards.

Use your fingers to gently remove the touchpad from the keyboard.
