i have a compaq cq60 laptop. the screen just stopped working, no backlight nothing. all the right lights are comming on so i think the laptop is working but no picture. i have tried a new screen and inverter, still nothing. i have connected to my tv via hdmi and to a moniter via i/o port still nothing. any help or suggestions would be appriciated

will buck, ". i have connected to my tv via hdmi and to a moniter via i/o port still nothing." sounds like a bad video card. On this computer, the video card is actually a chipset on the motherboard. You could try an external USB card to see if that works. Hope this helps, good luck.

thanks. i will try that first. if that works i know its the chipset on board. maybe i will get out the heatgun and try a reflow of the chip

Problema driver
Se lo hai aggiornato a windows 10 è normale. Per prima prova se va in modalità provvisoria e in Gestione dispositivi disinstalla il driver scheda grafica e riavvia. Provvederà windows update, (se lo hai attivato) al corretto aggiornamento. Anche se windows 10 ha già una scheda video già integrata. Se questo non funziona aggiorna il Bios. PC spento tieni premuto contemporaneamente i tasti per 1 secondo (tasto Accensione+Window+B), attendi 40-50 secondi anche qualcosa in più. Se non funziona è un problema di hardware, sulla scheda madre.
