ipad 2 touch screen not responding

GSM iPad 2 with 16, 32, or 64 GB of storage, and a Dual Core A5 Processor. Model Number A1396. Repair is complicated and requires heat and prying.

I have replaced the screen but when I turn it on I can only use the touch screen with vertical touches and I can not tap or swipe horizontally

Sounds like the FPC clips on the logic board were not pushed down all the way or the cable was not pushed in far enough.
