I saw that the PS3 games are usable all over the world with any PS3
I bought a PS3 in US and some games in France but the Simpsons Games is not worked when a boot it the PS3 tell me that the video set up is not correct
It seems that there is conflict in between NSCTC and PAL
Is anybody know what is the corrct set up?

i did a little research on this topic. every forum i have read. been saying the same. PS3 games are region free, movies are region coded.
and as PS3 automatically chooses output format, only thing you need to have is Pal compatibile TV. i have just tried to play a DVD from somewhere out there, its NTSC, region free and it played flawlessly... BTW, i live in UK, have UK PS3, so i dont see any reason, why it shouldnt work the other way around. i have no games from States, so i cannot try this, but i would recommend you, to set video output to auto.

PS3 games are region free IF you use HDMI cable; otherwise some Pal games don't work in Ntsc console and vice versa...

Yes, Games in france use the PAL designation, your PS3 was made in USA, therefore Has the NTSC/UC (or just NTSC) designation, so your system isn't capable of playing PAL even with firmware patches, etc the GPU & CPU have NTSC instructions, so unless you go and buy a PS3 in Europe, it won't work

Actually Chris didn't mention that a PAL PS3 can play NTCS games just as an NTSC PS3 can play PAL games, The XBOX 360 and a PC can't do it, but the PS3 can. I'm not saying anything badabout Chris Green, and I hope this helped.

Oh, I just assumed the standard applied to most computing/graphics hardware, since i have had issues of PAL games not running on my PC.

Yes a PS3 can play games from any region but it will not be able to play movies from other region

IT will work if you are using an HDTV that can convert the signal, otherwise if you are using a tube TV it can not convert the frequency and you will run into problems. Get HD cables either HDMI or buy the component cables and you should be fine as long as the tv has the ability to change the frequency.

just like most of the previews answer, YES !!! PAL or EU games does work with the NTSC or US console.
my set up:
PS3 120GB Slim US version(directly plug-in to 220V outlet)
Samsung 32" LCD HD Ready Flat screen tv EU version
HDMI cable is a MUST !!!
EU or PAL Games:
Sonic "Sega All-Star Racing"

Well I have movies with pal format, my ps3 hooked up to a vizio flat screen tv via hdmi and will not work. Any ideas not already listed?

It will play I bought one but, it loads and saves mulitble times and keeps delegating my data on that game it's says it's corrupted after evey fourteen hours but it dose play

Questions here should be related to repair and making devices work longer. How is this question repair related?

Hm. I'd suggest that it's a fair question -- could be that the device is only useful to this user if he/she can get it to play PAL games. So getting it to play PAL games could be considered to be a "fix" that extends the device's life.
