My ps4 when i attemot to turn it on it goes to a screen that days cannot start ps4. And also ask me to fownload system update 2.55. I turned it in to sony who said ot was water damage which is odd because ive never spilled anything on my console. Ive tried downloading the update and intializing but it still wont start up correctly

This may or may not be a fixable problem. If it is indeed water damaged then whatever damage the water did could be the cause of your problems. Sometimes liquid damage is fixable and sometimes it's not.
It could be a problem with various other things (APU, HDD, Update file, etc.) but it's just too hard to know without having it here to test.

If the Playstation is not letting you start it or is giving you an error code while trying to startup, generally it is because the hard drive of the Playstation is not pushed in all the way. It could also mean that the PS4 screw that has all 4 symbols that are on the controller on it is missing. That screw is what holds in the hard drive. Try opening the cover on top of the playstation over the hard drive and pull it out and push it back in. You should hear a click and then you should be able to start it.
