Water Damage - Display + Battery Issue
Hello ifixit!
So the other day a full glass of water tipped onto the keyboard of my Macbook 13. I was quick to act with paper towel, empty the water upside down and turn off immediatly. For 48hrs I kept the computer off with the bottom panel open, battery unplugged and constant fan setup with rice.
The good news is today I was able to successfully power on the computer normally with all trackpad/ keyboard functionality. However there was a quick flash from the screen and then went to black, so I went ahead and plugged in the HDMI port into a monitor, and voila there was still a signal from the GPU. If I had to guess it seems something not with the screen but perhaps the connecting cable.
There also seems to be a problem with that battery as the charger shows it's at 100%, but the computer shuts off instantly when taking off the power adapter. Oddly enough though all the battery information is displayed in the System Report.
On the logic board I see a couple of 2 -5mm water stains. Would it be wise for me to clean with 99% isopropyl on these stains as a potential solution for fixing the screen issue + battery issue? Or do you think these might be deeper issues that need the battery + screen to be replaced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
