Our Ps4 Pro bought used over a year ago stopped reading some games, it did this a while ago after a strip and clean but then it was fine (can't say anything I actually did sorted it).
However I bought a replacement "New" laser deck from Fleabay from a reputable seller for the day when this got worse (aboit 3 months).
when the day came i fitted the new laser deck but it wouldn't read any disk at all.
Decided to buy a replacement drive thinking that sellers on ebay are just selling old lasers they think work as new.
Blu ray drive again "New" from a different reputable seller was clearly used as there were marks all over the plastics but definitely brand new ribbon cables.
This drive on 1st try would not take in disks at all.
Then I had to take the motherboard out and fuse F6201 was blown (number could be wrong I'm going from memory). I checked F6202 and it was fine.
Okay, bad timing, bridged it with solder to see if that would get it working and the "New" drive then blew F6202 so I bridged that as well.
At this point I knew I couldn't safely try the new drive so I took the laser out of it and put it in my old drive aaaaaaaaaaaaaand???????
The 2nd "New" laser from Ebay did not read any disks.
Girlfriend bought a new laser deck from Amazon aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand?????? - didn't read any disks.
Put everything back to how it was originally and it was back to "reads some disks but not others".
Spent hours !#^&^$^ about with this combo and that combo.
I'm reasonably experienced with these kinds of diagnosis and repairs but all I can think of is that I just needed an actual new, really new, actually made to be a spare part, forged from raw materials, made from the beginning honest to god Ps4 Pro laser - sorry, just explaining what new means in case anyone selling them on ebay doesn't know.
Had to just give up on it because I'm done being ripped off and sending things back e.t.c.
I suppose my helpful hints are:
- If it doesn't accept disks - this is fuse related HOWEVER, the fuses could be getting blown by a short in a component (blu ray drive).
- If it doesn't read disks (OP) then it'll likely be the laser but don't expect to be able to prove that without a good supplier.
- Don't think any replacement parts are actually new, or even that they were tested anytime recently - it's scam city out there folks.
- Bridging the fuses is actually fine - big caveat here is that you really need to know what you're doing as they protect sensitive circuitry from drawing overcurrent in the event that something shorts out or is mechanically working too hard. Also you need to know you're components are not causing fuses to blow.
- Bonus tip: - If your PS4 Pros fan is screaming it's head off, replace the thermal pads with new quality ones from 3M aswell as the cleaning out and thermal paste renewal (use good stuff for that too like Arctic MX6 or whatever number is newest). I've done this several times and the biggest improvement was thermal pads believe it or not.

Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Seems like the optical/disc drive is commonly the culprit. I noticed a lot of gamers on YouTube and other sites posting the same problem and usually replacing the drive fixes the problem. I think the disc drive I received wasn't working to begin with. If the disc drive isn't the problem, what else could it be? This ps4 is only 13-14 months old and it was purchased new.

I replaced new laser but its still say "unrecognize disc" so I put that whole drive into another ps4 and it works because the problem is on the logicboard from the dvd drive or the main motherboard. If someone could help me figure out which component is failing I very appreciate and in return I would like to give you a free repair. Thank you
