Since a few weeks, date and time are lost when battery runs dry. I know older models had a backup battery to keep some power while main battery was recharged. Where is it, and which is the model of the required cell batt?

There is no PRAM battery on this machine. That function is taken care of by a small capacitor on the logic board. Sounds like yours has failed or it has been left with out a charge from the battery long enough for it to dissipate, I'd keep the main battery charged up or replace it if it;s bad.
