When I turn my phone on I get android system recovery and the volume button won't move up or down to scroll. I can't wipe data/factory reset. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

You say the you turn on the phone and get the recovery screen.
Have you tried the correct method to reset your phone by pressing the power button and the volume down button together to get to the recovery screen?
