connecter prongs damaged. Is this fixable?

Hi All,

I inherited a Nexus 5 D820 after a friend lost it, and when they got it back it would no longer turn on.

I pried the back off and discovered that the battery cable connected and the chip that it connects to are both damaged. It looks like someone tried to pull off the battery cable connector and was too rough causing the prongs from the chip on the phone side to be pulled off and stuck in the prongs of the chip on the battery cable connector.

I haven't tried to separate any of the extra prongs caught in the prongs on the battery cable side. But I*think* that the prongs on that side are all in tact.

I attached pics--they're not the greatest but should give a better idea.

I'm wondering: is this fixable? can I do it myself? etc.

Thanks!
