Dropped Ipad - no image

Hi all, not dire what model of Ipad I have but it's at least 2-3 years old. Unfortunately I dropped it last night - not far and now I don't get an image.

When I press the power button my background comes up with the password enter screen for a very short period of time and then it looks like it goes back into sleep. If I keep pressing it I get black screen with blue lines across it. Seen some other thread saying tap the back gently to aid the screen connection but no joy. Any suggestions? is if possible for me to split the screen from the unit and check connection? is there a how to guide?

Cheers

Update (12/05/2016)

Hi all, sorry for the late reply. the model is a A139S model if anyone has a strip down guide so I can re-attach any disconnected cables for the screen. Cheers Richard

on the back of your iPad, at the bottom, there will be very tiny letters that say "A1XXX". That is the model number. If you can post that, I can get you a teardown guide and hopefully be able to better answer you concerns.

The A1395 is an iPad 2 WiFi. As a first step, take a look at the connections for the LCD, Digitizer and Battery. Follow this guide very carefully.

If you do something wrong, you could damage or break the digitizer or LCD. If you do something really bad, you could damage the logic board.

Unlike an iPhone, properly re-assembling an iPad requires good quality adhesive to secure the digitizer to the frame. Replacement digitizers have adhesive pre-mounted but it usually doesn't hold very well. While this can be a DIY repair, there are more traps you can get caught in. For example, marks and smudges on the LCD, dust trapped inside, pinching flexes, lifting digitizers etc. I damaged a few LCD's when I first started and those can be very expensive.

So open it if you like, take a look to see if you find some obvious problem but remember that putting it back together is harder than opening it.

If your uncomfortable, find a shop that does high quality work as opposed to low prices.
