Can you clarify... Does it not open from inside or outside? If only fails to open from inside it could be that it is equipped with child proof lock switches and it has been activated somehow. If that is not the case and only fails to open from outside the lock to door handle pull rod has probably come loose some how. Failure of inside release handle could be a similar issue as well if it is only failing to open from inside release.
