Released at 2013, September. Display size - 480 x 800 pixels, 4.3 inches. Internal memory - 4 GB, 1 GB RAM. CPU - Quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A5, GPU - Adreno 203

Why does my HTC phone only boot when its plugged in.

Hello, So I an HTC Desire 500 series, everything works fine with the device other than the fact that it will be stuck in a continuous boot loop unless plugged into a power source. The minute I disconnect it, it resumes boot looping. I am not familiar with android phones and mostly only work on iPhones. Please help. Thanks

Hi,

If it works OK with the charger connected but not when on battery power only, then most probably the battery is failing and needs to be replaced.

Here’s a video that shows how to access the battery.

Battery suppliers are available online. Just search for HTC Desire 500 battery to get results.

Thank You, do you know by any chance where I can source a good battery. I very seldom work on Android devices so I don't know who to contact for parts. Thanks!

Hi,

Just search online as suggested and then select the one that suits you best. You could always select the one that states genuine OEM battery.
