My lock switch on my iPod Classic was stuck in the locked position despite me trying to switch it off. I replaced it with a new switch assembly and everything was fine for a few weeks. Today the lock symbol is back and I cannot unlock it with the switch. I restored it and the switch is still engaged. Can this be fixed or do I need to replace the entire iPod? Thanks.

replace the flex iPod Classic Headphone Jack & Hold Switch Replacement once more. It is very conceivable that the microswitch/flexed has failed. If it still will not work with a new flex, check the connector for any broken pins etc. After that the only thing you can do is to replace the logicboard. So, try the flex first to make sure it is not simply the switch.
