How to replace drive belt

I have a 2002 Murray 11 HP 30” riding mower, model 31602A. The drive belt is frayed and slipping. I have a replacement belt, but cannot see how the belt can be installed. I removed the cutting deck and can loop the new belt over the blade pulley and onto the drive pulley, and feed the belt over all linkage, but cannot see how to install onto the rear pulley. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

There should be an adjustable pulley. Or a tensioner pulley. It will have a square hole in the middle for a ratchet to insert and move it enough for you to loosen the tension on the belt and finish installing

Thanks for the response, but the idler is not a problem. The shift lever connects to a shaft that goes into the gear box in front of the rear drive pulley. I don't see how to get around this.
