Is it possible to format a generic drive with Partition 2?
I recently got one of these for some of the old games worth having (and original Xbox games). I got it cheap since it's the 4GB system (which is *why* it was cheap and was priced accordingly).
While used drives aren't expensive and are easy to find, they are more then I’d like to spend on the system on a blessed drive from Microsoft… If I can avoid doing so.
Bearing in mind that the official drive doesn't total these 4GB systems out (but is expensive enough you can get this exact system with the drive for about the same price as a factory hard drive variant), I have a spare drive from my laptop that's slow but should work. I can reuse the old drive from my laptop and get the enclosure for $2, give or take.
I don't need an internal drive for 360 games since I can use an external drive over USB (I have a high hour drive that works connected). The reason I’m doing this is I need the internal drive for the Xbox emulation :(.
Is it possible to format a generic drive internally on the 360 to get the correct partition map and then restore the required files onto Partition 2?
