Released in 1999, successor to the original PowerMac G3, 300-450 MHz, 64 or 128 MB of RAM, 6 or 12 GB HDD

won't power on

Hello!

I am also having the same problem. I did what u suggested and nothing. I opened the computer and I noticed that 1 of the plugs P5 was not connected to anything. My question is should that part be connected and if so where? Maybe that is what is causing my G3 not to power up?

Thank you.

Edie

The Plug "P5" is just another 4-Pin Molex power connector. It is used to power a secondary hard drive, and doesn't need to be connected to anything for the computer to work. If the computer isn't powering on, a bad power supply may be to blame. The PowerMac G3 Blue and White (as opposed to newer/older powermacs) uses a standard PC "ATX" power supply. You can buy these at just about any store that sells PC parts, or use an existing one if you happen to have one handy.
