Speedometer went all the way around
My speedometer went all they way around on my 2001 Acura. What do I do?
Does it do this only when the car starts moving or when you first turn on the engine?
Does the meter needle stay hard over or move at all?
Is the tachometer working OK?
Looking an the electrical wiring section of the repair manual for the car (see diagram below for the speedometer circuit), it appears that it operates from the main circuit board in the instrument cluster and that the only signal coming in is from the PCM/ABS/TCS control line, which supplies the information presumably for both the tachometer and the speedometer.
If the tachometer is OK then there may be a problem with either the meter itself, the main control board or the input from the TCS.
You may have to disconnect the lead coming into the gauge assembly (A15) to determine where the problem is, whether it is internal to the gauge assembly or not.
