Hi,
What is the full model number of the laptop?
Do you mean WiFi as most laptops do not have a SIM card option to pick up mobile phone signals?
What OS is installed in the laptop, Win 8.1, Win 10 etc?
For WiFi have you checked the status of the WLAN adapter in Device Manager to see that it is not disabled or that the drivers are up to date?
If Win 10 have you tried the Troubleshooting option? Go to Settings > Update and Security > Troubleshoot > Internet Connections or Network Adapter?
