Try a power refresh and check if that resolves the problem.

Here’s the procedure:

i). Disconnect the charger if connected and then remove the main battery from the laptop.

ii). Disconnect the RTC backup battery (supplier example only) from the motherboard.

Here’s the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.60-62 to view the procedure to remove both of the batteries.

Note: When the RTC battery is disconnected use a Voltmeter to measure its voltage. If it is <2.5V DC replace it. The part number is 02K6572. Search online using the part number only, to find suppliers that suit you best.

iii). Press and hold the laptop’s Power button for a full 30 seconds and then release it.

iv).Re-insert and reconnect the RTC battery, re-insert the main battery, connect the charger and try to turn the laptop on etc. If it turns on, there may be a message regarding the Date and Time being incorrect. This is normal as the BIOS has been reset. Once it has been corrected the message won’t appear the next time the laptop is started.
