Goes into a sleeplike state
I have a Macbook that I’m having trouble figuring out the issue. When using applications such as the browsers the display just goes dark. Taping the trackpad, keyboard, and power button do not wake it up. Have to hold the power button down then turn the computer back on again. I even had the computer shut off and when I turned it on it showed the low battery indicator saying it needed to be plugged in, in the middle of the screen. I thought that was weird because the battery was at 92% last I looked, when I plugged it in it turned on and was at 92%. I checked the battery status, it says it is normal and only has 383 cycle count. I did scan for viruses and found there are some infections, but from prior experience I haven’t seen infections cause this. And the Mac does have High Sierra if that matters.

This sounds like a weak battery

@danj Is the app free? Or do you have to pay to get the info?

@chryse CoconutBattery is free. Go to the website Dan linked and click "Download v3.9.7", then go through the installation instructions.

@danj Posted :) and I figured it could be a weak battery since the computer is 5 years old, but usually with that I've seen it say to service in my experience.
