Broken internal power button cable

Hi. I need help urgently.

I broken the internal power button cable while removing the left speaker. It is the cable that routes around the speaker. My iMac will not detect the power button has been pressed.

Is it possible to repair or replace this component? How do I remove it? Otherwise, what are my options?

Thanks.

Thanks. I've posted two pictures showing the cable and the internal button.

You’ll need to remove the left speaker to get to the button assembly. I don’t remember if it’s screwed in of glued. Once you get it out you should be able to attach a replacement wire and splice on the other end.

The button assembly was glued in place. A bit of heat and it came unstuck. Once it was opened I was able to resolder the broken wire back into place. The wires are small and the work is awkward, but success was achieved.
