How to strip it down to prevent any damage to get to the mechanism

Hi team, just after some guidance on how to strip down the Sony PS 1100 turntable to get to the auto return mechanism. The turntable works really well in all other aspects, I.e. the reject function works well but the auto return won’t work. I saw a YouTube video on that persons had bit broken from the mechanism (small plastic tang broke off - he reglued it) but I just need to know how to strip it down to prevent any damage to get to the mechanism (to see if it’s broken or what’s doing) thanks in advance team, Kind regards, Joe
