microphone is not working properly

Hi,

Can you be heard OK when using the phone in speakerphone mode (aka hands free mode) or when using earphones with a microphone attachment plugged into the phone's headphone socket?

If so then there may be a problem with the phone's main microphone only and not the voice transmission circuitry in the phone.

Is the phone in a protective case at all?

If so, remove it from the case and check if it now works OK. If it now works OK the case may be blocking the voice inlet hole located on the bottom edge of the phone between the charge port and the headphone socket.

If it is not in a case or it still doesn't work when removed from the case check that the voice inlet hole on the bottom edge of the phone is not blocked with lint etc.

It may be hard to tell if it is or not, but do not use a metal pin or probe to try and clear it anyway as you may damage the microphone which is behind the hole. Try using a vacuum cleaner and check if this clears any blockage and resolves the problem.

If still no good it may be a faulty microphone.

The microphone is part of the charge port and mic board (supplier example only - search online for Galaxy A10s Charging Port Dock Connector Microphone Board to find suppliers that suit you best).
