TV wont turn on.

As title states, My set wont turn on. Well... it powers on. Power indication lights flashes red and you can tell the TV is trying to process an image, but it flashes between a super dark gray image and powered down black.

Previous to total inoperability, the TV would have a few lines across the screen that would alter the color of the image it ran through and it also had a "pulse" effect.

TV is barely 4 months out of warranty and of course Samsung isn't of any assistance in repairing it without wildly insulting costs out of pocket. Nearest repair station is too far to make sense trekking to and I'm hoping to not turn this Samsung paperweight into a slab of preventable e-waste.

Jelani Williams tell us more about this "TV would have a few lines across the screen that would alter the color of the image it ran through and it also had a "pulse" effect." Were those lines horizontal lines or vertical lines? I know it's a PITA but trying to fix things remotely requires us to have as much info as possible. Also, what is the complete model number for your TV? How is it connected? A cable box? Sat Receiver? Are you using HDMI? Have you tried other input sources? Any chance you can post a small video the same way @geirandersen suggested for pictures?

Jelani Williams, Start by doing this: Dim the lights in the room and shine a fairly powerful flashlight at an angle towards the screen (from up close). Do this while there should be an image on the screen.

If you can see shapes and/or shadows, you know you have a backlight issue and we can further find out if it’s the backlight strips themselves or if it’s the driver circuit.

You could also take the back cover off the TV, after disconnecting the power and pressing the power button for 30 seconds. Be careful though, as there are still some high voltage capacitors in there that could hold a charge.

Take some good quality and up close pictures of the boards, then add them to your questions. Adding images to existing questions.
