Lenovo IdeaPad 330-17ICH 81FL Keyboard Replacement

One of the keys on my 330-17ICH 81FL (was not an option on the device selection) died and a few others seem like their on their way out so I was looking at replacing the keyboard. I was wondering if replacing just the keyboard assembly would be viable since there seems to be a lot of generically compatible 330 15/17 keyboards available. I ask because most of the options online for the 17ICH include the whole upper case with the armrest but don't completely resemble mine (my case has the large vent grate run the entire length of the back of the case, not half like most of the ones for sale have), and I'm worried about swapping one of those in.

Hi @seanmurphy55981

As can be seen from the parts list for the model, (click on Select Commodity > C-cover with keyboard (122), there are 122 different uppercase/keyboard assemblies that are compatible with the laptop. They are country and feature specific so it may be hard to find the part number for your exact model variant.

Perhaps the best way to know that you're getting the exact replacement, is to open the laptop and look for the Lenovo part number, which should be somewhere on the underside of the uppercase assembly. When you find it, check that it is listed in the parts list and then search online for the part number only to find suppliers that suit you best.

Here's the hardware maintenance manual for the laptop. Go to p.50 to view the procedure to remove the upper case assembly.
